Our methodology
- Strict extraction: We read markers that appear explicitly in your report text. Values are not rounded, converted, or invented.
- Your review: You confirm which extracted rows to include before context is added.
- Educational context: Each confirmed marker receives structured context drawn from women’s health literature: what it measures, why it can matter across cycle, fertility, perimenopause, and menopause, and evidence strength where applicable.
- GP-ready summary: You receive a plain-language summary to support conversations with your GP, OB-GYN, endocrinologist, or fertility specialist, not to replace them.
What we can and cannot tell you
We can
- See which biomarkers your report actually contains
- Understand what each marker measures in women’s health context
- Spot patterns worth discussing (e.g. thyroid + cycle symptoms, insulin with PCOS workups)
- Prepare focused questions for your clinician
- Track what was and wasn’t tested in your panel
We cannot
- Diagnose PCOS, thyroid disease, infertility, or perimenopause
- Recommend medications, supplements, or treatment plans
- Interpret results without your clinical history, medications, or imaging
- Replace urgent or emergency medical care
- Promise full extraction accuracy on poor-quality scans or handwritten forms
Clinician handoff
If any result is unexpected, worsening, or paired with concerning symptoms (severe pain, heavy bleeding, chest pain, shortness of breath, suicidal thoughts), seek urgent care. For non-urgent labs, bring your Decode summary to your clinician along with the original laboratory PDF. Decode uses reference ranges printed on your report; your clinician may apply different thresholds based on age, pregnancy status, medications, and local guidelines.
Your data
- Lab report content is processed to extract values; we do not store your full report in our database after processing.
- Account sign-up stores your email and, optionally, life-stage context (if you save it while signed in) and a Pro-wishlist signal (if you tick the box). No billing during beta.
- Issue reports store marker name and issue type only, not numeric lab values.
